Protection
We want to help protect your family financially if the worst happens and you are seriously ill or die. Protecting those you love against all those risks is what we do best.
Working out what all the different elements of cover do, deciding what you need and which company to use for cover is mind blowing. Let the experts help, in our safe hands you will soon have the right cover, tailored for you and your family, for the right price and have all round peace of mind.
Life Insurance
Life insurance pays out a cash lump sum to your loved ones in the event that you die during the term of the policy. Life insurance is there to protect the people you love, your family.
Life insurance can’t shield your family from the emotional heartache of losing you, but it does protect them financially, dealing with grief and financial problems at the same time would be heart breaking. You want to make life for them at this time as simple and easy as possible.
You definitely would want to repay your mortgage, but you also want to provide money for your family to have ‘more’ – if we just took away your mortgage payment, could your family stay in their home? We will explain all the options available to you, and help you find the best value way to provide all your family with exactly what they need.
Life Insurance cover includes terminal illness benefit – which means that the money is paid out if you are given less than 12 months to live. Which gives you extra peace of mind that you could spend valuable moments with your loved ones, without financial pressure.
Most people consider obtaining life insurance cover at key points during their life such as getting married, buying a home or starting a family.
Critical Illness Cover
Critical illness cover provides you with a lump sum payment in the event you are diagnosed with a critical illness – this is a policy designed to help you have breathing space, suitable funds and peace of mind at a very stressful and difficult time. It helps provide some building blocks so you can ‘stop and think’ without pressure and enable you to have as much energy as possible to fight your illness.
Having a critical illness isn’t cheap, lots of additional costs occur before we even consider if you are able to work and having cover that eases the financial pressure is vital.
Critical Illness conditions vary between providers and one of our roles is to help you find the right quality cover for your budget. Some examples of conditions covered are:
- Heart Attack
- Stroke
- Cancer – excluding less advanced cases
- Motor Neurone Disease
- Major Organ Transplant
- Lots of less advanced cancer’s still get smaller claim payouts
- Children’s critical illness cover
This simply scratches the surface of things covered. One reassurance we like to give is that the reputable and high quality insurers we deal with DO want to pay out. It is a myth that insurers don’t want to pay claims.
We also want to protect your children, it is unthinkable to imagine them being seriously ill, but we all know it does happen. It is possible to add children to your critical illness cover, having them protected means you would have the financial stability to be right by their side if they were seriously ill and needed your support.
Income Protection
Income protection is your own private sick pay. It pays a proportion of your income each month if you’re unable to work due to illness or injury, so that you don’t need to rely on Statutory Sick Pay to pay your mortgage/rent or other bills. Your outgoings do not stop if your income did.
If you are self employed this is something you should definitely look at, if you can’t work your income is affected immediately, so a policy that gives you a defined amount of income for the short or longer term is absolutely essential.
If you are employed you should look at taking cover that ‘kicks in’ once your employer would stop paying you sick pay. Do you know that most clients don’t know how long they get paid for if they are sick?
We can also set up tailored cover for many professionals, who have more complex sick pay criteria and need a more bespoke policy.
This is different to critical illness as it covers ANY illness that would mean your GP signed you off sick. According to Aviva, the 3 most claimed for conditions are Mental Health, Musculoskeletal ( bone related ), and Cancer. Only one of these would give you a claim on a critical illness policy, so it is important to balance both types of cover into your family cover.
As with all our advice, it is important to us that we provide you with the highest quality cover, which is essential.
